Try to modify that specific ground so that it may appear different to him when he comes back to it or try spraying or putting something in there that may irritate him.
2. Try to avoid doing gardening or anything that involves digging like shoveling while your dog is around. Keep in mind that your dog looks up to you as his master. If he sees you doing these things, he will automatically follow what you are doing thinking that it is a good thing.
3. Just like humans, dogs also need exercise. Sometimes the main reason why the dog keeps on digging is because he has nothing else to spend his energy with.
But if you exercise him regularly like walking around then he will be too tired to do some digging as soon as you get home. It will completely be the last thing on his mind.

5. Always be aware that punishing your dog due to his digging does not help in training him to stop digging. Also, if you try to correct him make sure that you caught him in the act of digging so that he may be able to identify the action to which he is being corrected.
If you get to scold him alter after doing his deed then he may get the wrong message. Whenever you catch him digging, immediately replace this activity with another in order to distract him from his beloved activity and replace it with something that you want him to do.
